ScanTech iReal 2E is a portable color 3D scanner that was specially developed for capturing mid-sized and larger objects with different surfaces, including black and glossy ones. It has a scan area of up to 850mm x 800mm and quite a large depth of field for a handheld scanner of 750mm depth of field.

iReal 2E uses the VCSEL technology of structured infrared light that allows for quick capture of a texture without using markers or targets. Without attaching markers, quick texture capturing and geometry acquisition can be achieved. The mixed alignment mode  option meets various scanning situations.

iReal 2E is a great tool for 3D scanning people or objects that can’t remain perfectly still. The image capture processing algorithms compensate for small movements. Using non-visible infrared light doesn’t cause any discomfort and is fully safe for vision. (although due to the flashing nature of data capture, people with photosensitive epilepsy should avoid using this type of scanner).
