Awesome service and store for all 3D printing and design requirements. Have flicked them a couple items to replicate and have been amazed with the quality and timely manner in which their team operates. 5 stars all round!

A while ago I went through the process of identifying some 3D printers for the Hutt City Libraries to help with their STEMM programme developments. That process identified the Wanhao i3 Printers as being well suited to the job. They had a good sturdy frame, they used open source software, and generic filament, and it was felt that the open and exposed format would help make it obvious how they worked. So we bought four of them.
These have been running for a couple of months in the middle of the library’s main floor and attracted a great deal of attention. As expected the open structure has been effective at capturing the attention of the public. Being able to easily see the mechanism at work and the printed object growing while you watch has allowed the public to quickly understand how the printers work. This is quite unlike the experience provided by the enclosed box-style Makerbots we also have, where it is harder to see what is going on.

The Wanhao printers have also been on tour to some of the other satellite libraries when we run workshops for the public teaching them how to take a digital model and turn it into a physical object through the 3D printers. The printers have been slung into the back of a car, carted across town, dumped onto a table, run for a period, and then quickly packed away and returned to the main Library again. Despite this less than gentle handling, they have run quickly and reliably and produced excellent quality prints for the entire time since we got them. We have had more reliable performance from these than the Makerbots.

I am very pleased with them and their superb performance. If we need to expand our fleet again in the future, we’ll be getting more of these.

I used 3Design to design and print a radio clip that kept breaking but the radio supplier did not hold any parts for. Very frustrating. 3Design took the broken clip, made a stronger design and just printed it!! Now, when the other original clips break, I can just get another one printed. These guys are friendly, responsive and get the job done using 3D printing technology. Thanks 3Design team.
